Marsan Akguc Law Firm
Business Immigration Paralegal — Exceptional Ability Visas (Hybrid, Newport Beach)
About Marsan Akguc Law Firm
Marsan Akguc Law Firm is a U.S. immigration law firm based in Newport Beach, California, serving clients across all 50 states. Founded by Attorney Esra Marsan, the firm specializes in business immigration — with a strong focus on Exceptional Ability visas — as well as asylum and removal defense.
We're a growing firm built on strong client relationships, structured workflows, and a commitment to high-quality legal work. We're not looking for case processors — we're looking for trusted partners who take real ownership of their cases.
This position requires a minimum of 3 years of hands-on U.S. business immigration experience, with a strong focus on Exceptional Ability visas (EB-1A, EB-2 NIW, and O-1). If you do not meet this requirement, please do not apply.
The Role
This is a hybrid role based out of our Newport Beach office. You'll work on-site 3-4 days per week, with 1-2 days remote. You'll support our in-office filing and case preparation processes while owning your own caseload of complex Exceptional Ability matters from intake through final filing.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and complete USCIS petition packages independently, from start to finish, with a focus on EB-1A, EB-2 NIW, and O-1 cases
- Draft persuasive cover letters, support letters, expert opinion letters, and exhibit lists for attorney review
- Lead clients through document collection — ensuring evidence is submitted on time and in the right format
- Conduct legal research and build persuasive narratives for Exceptional Ability petitions
- Support in-office filing and case preparation workflows alongside the team
- Serve as a confident, reliable point of contact for clients, managing updates and answering questions
- Track deadlines and manage progress across multiple active files simultaneously
- Partner closely with attorneys — anticipating needs and freeing them to focus on legal strategy
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of hands-on U.S. business immigration experience, with a strong focus on Exceptional Ability visas (EB-1A, EB-2 NIW, and O-1) — this is a strict requirement
- Proven track record of owning paralegal workflows from intake through filing
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong written communication skills
- Experience communicating directly with clients in a fast-paced setting
- Highly organized, with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines
- Based in or near Newport Beach / Orange County, and able to work on-site 3-4 days per week (1-2 days remote)
- Paralegal certificate, associate's or bachelor's degree, or equivalent practical experience
- Proficiency in Google Workspace; case management software experience a plus
What We Offer
- A growing, structured firm with clear workflows and real career growth potential
- A collaborative team that treats you as a strategic partner, not just support staff
- Direct access to and close collaboration with our licensed attorneys
- Exposure to a wide variety of sophisticated, high-stakes Exceptional Ability matters
- A hybrid schedule — 3-4 days of in-office collaboration with 1-2 remote days per week
