Position Summary

The Buyer will perform general purchasing duties to support the operation.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Understand, adhere, and demonstrate to the company’s commitment to quality and safety.
  • Work under limited supervision following standardized procedures Review RFQ’s for accuracy and actively negotiate pricing with suppliers
  • Proactively manage the open order report to ensure suppliers meet delivery date commitments, PO’s are closed and all PO commitments are closed to support project billing
  • Interface with suppliers, internal customers including manufacturing, quality, shipping/receiving, accounts payable to foster highest customer satisfaction while adhering to company requirements and critical deadlines
  • Source new product streams and identify new vendors
  • Assure all assigned commodities are purchased in support of customer requirements
  • Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability and delivery schedule
  • Contacts vendors with discrepancies with quantity and quality while overseeing contract obligations
  • Proactively seeks opportunities for improvement in pricing, order management and vendor relations
  • Purchase Order acknowledgement and confirmation
  • Update Production Report daily with job material status
  • Long Term Agreement negotiations, execution and administration Review daily spend report as submitted to General Manager
  • Manage supply chain systems, processes and procedure improvement
  • Purchase Order follow-up (past due & due in next 90 days) status entry and reporting to eliminate shortages and down time in production
  • Support Operations team with vendor material/hardware/detail part quotes to support customer quotes
  • Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitation and scope of authority
  • Follow all Purchasing policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills

  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language
  • Conducting Root Cause Corrective Action
  • Understanding of ERP/MRP/Purchasing concepts, administration and execution
  • Negotiations and ability to determine best overall value to the company is a plus
  • Good communicator with ability to represent the Company in a positive manner when dealing with the public
  • Ability to perform tasks involving Microsoft Office software i.e. word/Excel/Power Point
  • Experience understanding purchasing contractual language and implementing processes to support the contract
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Industrial Technology, Industrial engineering, Management or equivalent experience

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $59,900 to $74,000 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.

This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
