Position Title: SECONDARY ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL
Initial Assignment: KENMORE WEST HIGH SCHOOL
Qualifications
Hold valid New York State School Administrative Certification.
Minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience; prior building-level administrative experience preferred.
Proven track record of strong instructional leadership that cultivates a positive, engaging environment for staff and students to drive sustained academic achievement.
Demonstrated success in fostering inclusive, equitable learning environments that support diverse student populations.
Comprehensive knowledge of or successful experience at the high school level, with deep expertise in NYSED graduation requirements.
Performance Responsibilities
Administer and implement the school and district initiatives
Provide leadership in initiating, evaluation and revising school operating practices to achieve and maintain an efficient school
Perform as a visible and effective leader in both long range planning and day-to-day operations of the high school, including school-wide and individual student management programs
Advocate and sustain a school culture and instructional program conducive to student learning and staff professional growth
Evaluate and approve or recommend modifications to new or existing programs and submit their proposals to the principal
Resolve conflicts or grievances and settle disputes between students, teachers, parents or combinations thereof
Assist in screening, interviewing and recommending candidates for positions within the school and District
Communicates clearly and effectively with students, parents, staff, administration and community members
Clearly articulate the goals and philosophy of the school and District
Assist in the interpretation and administration of school policy, regulations and negotiated contracts
Assist in yearly teacher evaluation and provide guidance to and manage staff
Assist with student disciplinary duties as well as student activities
Responsible for principal's duties in the absence of the principal
Performs tasks as assigned by the building principal
Contract: 12 months Per KAA Contract

Salary: $89,000 - $110,000; negotiable based on experience
