Senior Buyer Manufacturing | Aerospace | Full-Time | Exempt

Position Summary

Experienced procurement professional responsible for sourcing and purchasing raw materials, components, castings, MRO, outside processing, and services in an aerospace manufacturing environment. Mentors junior buyers and drives procurement strategy across multiple commodities.

Primary Responsibilities

• Source and qualify suppliers (domestic and international) per aerospace requirements; evaluate capabilities, pricing, and financial stability
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, terms, and conditions with vendors; manage significant-dollar procurements
• Collaborate with Sales, Planning, and Master Scheduling to establish forecasts, lead times, and pricing parameters
• Manage purchase orders in ERP/MRP system; ensure on-time delivery and resolve supplier issues
• Consolidate vendors, coordinate tool transfers, and drive cost reductions
• Lead, mentor, and train junior buyers

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business or Manufacturing Technology, or equivalent aerospace experience
• 5–8 years of procurement experience in a manufacturing environment
• Aerospace aftermarket and metals/forgings/castings/machining purchasing experience preferred
• APICS certification a plus
• Blueprint reading ability; strong negotiation, communication, and MS Office/Excel skills
• Self-directed, results-driven; thrives in a fast-paced environment
