Job Position: Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing 2026-27 School Year

Location: Joliet, IL 60435

Pay Rate: $45.00/hr

Birch Agency is seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) to join our team for the 20262027 school year in a school-based setting near Joliet. This is a full-time position offering a rewarding opportunity to support students with hearing impairments and help them achieve academic and personal success.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction and educational support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing

• Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs)

• Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families

• Monitor student progress and maintain required documentation

• Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet individual student needs

• Promote student engagement, communication, and academic achievement

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate endorsement for Deaf and Hard of Hearing services

• Experience working with school-aged students preferred

• Strong communication and collaboration skills

• Commitment to supporting diverse learners in educational settings
