Our office is conveniently located in downtown Wilmington, DE. About the Role

The IT Projects and Compliance Director will assist with the strategic planning, execution, and oversight of IT projects within the Facility, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements. This role is pivotal in managing cross-functional teams to deliver technology solutions on time, within scope, and budget while maintaining high standards of quality and security. The director will also develop, implement, and monitor compliance frameworks to ensure adherence to industry regulations, internal policies, and best practices. By fostering collaboration between IT, legal, and other departments, the role ensures that projects and initiatives meet compliance standards and mitigate risks effectively. Ultimately, this position drives operational excellence and governance in IT projects, supporting the organization's long-term growth and integrity. This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in IT project management with a proven track record of delivering large-scale projects.
  • Strong knowledge of IT compliance standards and regulations such as DE Code Title 6C 12B, HIPAA, SOX, or PCI-DSS.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects at once
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, ITIL, CISA, or CPCM
  • Experience working in highly regulated industries
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
  • Proven ability to implement enterprise-wide compliance frameworks and IT governance models.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of complex IT projects, ensuring they meet scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive internal compliance programs related to IT operations, including data privacy, cybersecurity, and regulatory mandates.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, legal, risk management, and business units to ensure project and compliance alignment.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, risks, and compliance status to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Establish and enforce IT governance policies and procedures to maintain regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct regular internal compliance assessments to identify compliance gaps and implement corrective actions.
  • Developing and managing detailed project plans.
  • Managing and tracking project onboarding and offboarding.
  • Manage vendor relationships and contracts to ensure compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Deliver results and presentations to Board members and other parties.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities to project managers and compliance staff.
