My client, whom I have partnered with has an incredible opportunity replacing a long-tenured, successful retiring CFO, within an organization boasting an award-winning culture and industry leader. As a key member of the executive leadership team responsible for the strategic financial direction of the organization. The CFO provides oversight of all financial operations, including financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and risk management. This role ensures the integrity of financial reporting, establishes strong internal controls, and partners with executive leadership and the Board to support organizational strategy and long-term sustainability.
- Strategic Leadership: Provide executive leadership for all financial functions (accounting, FP&A, budgeting, treasury) and develop/execute financial strategy in alignment with business objectives.
- Executive Advisory: Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and Board of Directors on financial performance, long-term planning, and presenting financial results/key metrics.
- Financial Planning & Analysis: Lead the annual budgeting process, financial forecasting, variance analysis, and drive performance through data-driven KPIs.
- Treasury & Capital Management: Oversee cash flow management, investment strategies, and capital planning.
- Compliance & Controls: Ensure the integrity of financial reporting in accordance with GAAP; establish and maintain robust internal controls and financial policies.
- Audit & Risk Management: Oversee the annual financial audit, lead enterprise risk management efforts (including property/liability insurance), and serve as a fiduciary to company-sponsored retirement plans.
- Stakeholder & Team Management: Manage relationships with external stakeholders (auditors, banks, insurers, consultants); provide leadership, oversight, and development to the Controller and Finance, IT teams.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Education: Bachelor’s, Master’s in Accounting, Finance. CPA is a plus.
- Experience: 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including senior leadership roles. Service Pricing, Non-Profit industry is helpful.
- Strategy: Proven experience developing and executing financial strategy, and presenting to executive leadership/Boards of Directors.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, compliance, and overseeing accounting, FP&A, and treasury functions.
- Systems: Experience with financial systems and ERP platforms.
