The University of Pittsburgh Department of Neurobiology ( http://www.neurobio.pitt.edu/) is seeking exceptional candidates to develop and grow outstanding research programs specifically focused on mechanisms of visceral pain and the use of neuromodulation to treat visceral and somatic pain. Applicants must have a PhD and/or MD degree in Neuroscience or similar field and have demonstrated excellence in single and multi-unit electrophysiological nerve recordings, behavioral assays of visceral nociception, and cell culture techniques to enable validation of genetic manipulations. Applicants must have at least 4 years of postdoctoral experience. Appointments will be made in the Department of Neurobiology of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine ( http://www.neurobio.pitt.edu/) at the Research Instructor level. Salary and start-up package are highly competitive.
