Job Summary
The Colorado School of Public Health (ColoradoSPH) has an opening for a full‐time Professional Research Assistant (PRA) Level 2 within the Department of Epidemiology. This PRA Level 2 position will focus on cancer research through the University of Colorado Comprehensive Cancer Center (CU-CCC). The CU-CCC physicians and researchers overcome cancer through innovation, discovery, prevention, early detection, multidisciplinary care, and education. The CU-CCC scientists in the Cancer Prevention and Control Research Program aim to reduce cancer risk, occurrence, and mortality through multidisciplinary approaches.
The incumbent will manage cancer research studies of the CU-CCC and the CSPH by: assisting with literature reviews; designing data collection tools; designing patient-facing study materials and information; conducting data collection; participating in community engagement activities’ completing data cleaning, descriptive analyses, and multivariable analyses; preparing publication quality graphics and tables, and other research-related activities (e.g., tracking, quality control, purchasing) as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide recruitment and enrollment support for the I-SCREEN Study
- Translate English study materials to Spanish
- Conduct one or more literature reviews and analyses as well as draft publication quality papers for breast cancer studies.
- Conduct GIS analyses of statewide data regarding lung cancer screening and lung cancer care
- Conduct literature reviews and analyses and prepare draft publication quality papers for lung cancer studies
Work Location
Hybrid – this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
1 year of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree (preferred) in Public Health (MPH)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of technical/professional personnel and community participants.
Strong scientific writing skills
Strong organization skills
Database experience for efficient and effective data management such as EXCEL, ACCESS, or REDCap.
Excellent computer skills for programs such as WORD, ENDNOTE, POWERPOINT, GOOGLE DOCS, DROPBOX, EXCEL, SAS, R, STATA, REDCap, QUALTRICS, SEER*STAT, and ARCGIS
Ability to learn University specific software as needed
Ability to work independently and make decisions within the scope of duties.
Experience in de novo data collection and/or biospecimen collection from research participants.

Anticipated Pay Range
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:
$52,531 – 69,031
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
