Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Material Science, Physics or related field.
Experience with sputtering and evaporation designs and processes to produce optical thin-film based products.
Responsible for managing the engineering team and cross-functional engagement with the operations team to support company objectives of manufacturing quality, throughput, yield, and uptime. May manage individual engineers who also have project program management responsibility. Supports the organization’s technology roadmap with development, scaling, and commercialization of thin-film based products. Works collaboratively with all functions to support achievement of the organizations quality objectives. Manages employee recruitment, selection, training, coaching, performance assessment, priorities, work assignments, and career development.
Manages engineering activities from product design and development through full production sustainment. Oversees engineering action plans and program development processes to keep projects on schedule and on budget. Deliver documented engineering processes that are measured and improved. Oversees organizational development and maintenance of engineering staff competence. Works closely with the CTO to deliver new processes and products to support strategic growth initiatives. Supports Sales & Marketing teams with technical support for customer retention and new business development. May provide application engineering to support the Sales mission.
