Full-Time Legal Assistant Estate Planning/Trust Administration Paralegal

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Probate & Trust Administration Paralegal / Legal Assistant to support attorneys in all aspects of estate and trust administration. This role involves managing probate filings, assisting with trust settlements, maintaining client communication, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and court procedures. The ideal candidate is highly organized, responsive, and capable of handling sensitive matters with professionalism and discretion.

Key Responsibilities

Assist attorneys with all phases of probate and trust administration

Prepare and file probate petitions, inventories, accountings, and related court documents

Draft routine correspondence and legal documents, including notices, waivers, and beneficiary communications

Manage case files, calendars, and deadlines to ensure timely filings and compliance

Assist in identifying, valuing, and distributing estate and trust assets

Maintain accurate records of transactions, disbursements, and trust account activity

Communicate with clients, beneficiaries, and third parties in a professional and compassionate manner

Conduct legal and factual research related to probate and trust matters

Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive client information

Qualifications

Associate’s, bachelor’s degree, or paralegal certificate preferred

2+ years of experience in probate, estate planning, or trust administration

Strong knowledge of probate procedures and legal terminology

Proficiency in legal document preparation and court filing (including e-filing systems)

Excellent organizational and time-management skills

Strong written and verbal communication abilities

High attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal practice management software

Preferred Skills

Experience with estate and trust accounting

Familiarity with probate laws and procedures

Work Environment
