About the Role
Talarico for Texas is building a movement to take back power for working people. The campaign is seeking a full-time Policy & Special Projects Associate to produce high-quality policy research and support various cross-departmental projects.
Responsibilities
- Research policy issues, ongoing policy debates, and Congressional actions
- Draft one-pagers, issue briefs, and talking points
- Help build and maintain relationships with community leaders, policy experts, and advocacy groups to gather diverse perspectives on policy issues
- Track and draft responses to incoming inquiries and feedback about James’ policy priorities
- Support special projects in collaboration with other campaign departments
Requirements
Qualifications
- Prior campaign or policy experience is preferred, but not required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills
- Discretion when dealing with sensitive information
- Ability to learn quickly, implement feedback, and meet tight deadlines under pressure
- Willingness to be a team player and support colleagues and the campaign at large

Benefits

Location: Austin, Texas (statewide travel sometimes required)
Salary: $5,000 per month
