The Redding Rancheria is seeking a Gaming Manager. The preferred schedule for this position is Full Time.
The listed wage reflects the entry-level rate for this position. Compensation may be adjusted based on experience, education, and qualifications.
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of the Tribal Gaming Agency to ensure all gaming activities comply with tribal, state, and federal regulations. This role supports the Executive Gaming Director by supervising agency staff, enforcing compliance standards, and maintaining the integrity of gaming operations.
REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have knowledge of the California Penal Code, Business and Professions Code, California’s Alcohol Beverage Control Standards and Title 31, IRS Compliance.
- Must work closely with Tribal, NIGC, State Officials and Casino employees.
- Prefer law enforcement background or related experience.
- Must qualify for Class C Gaming License.
- Must have at least two (2) years’ experience in gaming.
- Two (2) years of management experience preferred.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
- Indian preference.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Monitor daily gaming activities to ensure compliance with federal, state, and tribal regulations.
- Oversee the implementation of policies, procedures, and internal controls as directed by the Executive Gaming Director.
- Ensure all gaming equipment and technology meet regulatory standards and are functioning correctly.
- Assist with coordinating inspections, audits, and investigations related to gaming operations.
- Supervise Compliance Officers, Licensing and Administrative Assistant II, providing guidance and support to ensure they perform their duties effectively.
- Schedule and assign staff to monitor gaming activities and conduct compliance checks.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide training or recommendations for staff development.
- Ensure licensing requirements for gaming employees, vendors, and operations are met and maintained in compliance with tribal ordinances and regulations.
- Review and approve licensing applications and renewals, escalating complex issues to the Executive Gaming Director when needed.
- Prepare detailed reports on compliance activities, incidents, and regulatory violations for review by the Executive Gaming Director.
- Maintain accurate records of licenses, investigations, and inspections.
- Assist in drafting updates to policies, procedures, or internal controls as directed.
- Investigate potential violations of gaming regulations, escalating significant issues to the Executive Gaming Director.
- Ensure proper handling and documentation of incidents, such as equipment malfunctions or disputes.
- Act as a liaison between the gaming agency staff and the Executive Gaming Director, ensuring effective communication and execution of directives.
- Collaborate with gaming operators to address compliance-related issues or questions.
- Participate in meetings with gaming agency, tribal council members, or Gaming Commission as needed.
- Assist in developing and conducting training programs for agency to promote regulatory compliance and operational excellence.
- Stay informed about regulatory updates and industry trends, sharing relevant information with staff and leadership.
- Provide input on operational and compliance strategies to support the Executive Gaming Director's objectives.
- Step in to managing agency operations in the Executive Gaming Director's absence, ensuring continuity.
- Participates in the Management Support Team.
