Diversified Services Network, Inc. (DSN) is seeking a full-time Autonomous Truck Integration & Validation Engineer to join our 2nd shift team in Tucson, AZ! We offer full benefits, PTO, 401k, and more! If you are a hands-on engineer with a passion for autonomous systems and a drive to solve complex problems on large machines in real-world environments within an extremely reputable, stable Fortune 500 company — let’s talk!

Position Overview

We are seeking an Autonomous Truck Integration & Validation Engineer to join our autonomous haul truck team on 2nd shift, fully on-site in Tucson, AZ. In this role, you will create and execute test and validation plans for autonomous haul truck systems, troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and software issues, and collaborate with onsite expert operators and software development teams in Peoria to drive system performance and reliability. You will gain hands-on experience with large machines, develop a deep understanding of autonomy hardware and software, and build proficiency in data analysis — making this an outstanding opportunity for engineers early in their career to grow quickly in a cutting-edge field.

Key Contributions & Responsibilities

  • Create and update test and development plans for autonomous haul truck testing.
  • Execute on-machine testing on autonomous haul trucks to validate system functionality and reliability.
  • Analyze test data to derive insights and support continuous improvements in system performance.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software issues encountered during autonomous truck testing.
  • Thoroughly document and communicate issues found during testing; write test reports and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Interface with software development teams in Peoria to align technical requirements; interact with end customers to understand their needs and improve product design and functionality.

Team Structure & Work Environment

  • You will be part of a 31-member team, with frequent day-to-day interaction with onsite expert operators and regular virtual collaboration with software developers in Peoria via Microsoft Teams. Collaboration occurs through in-person and virtual meetings, email, and instant messaging.
  • The work site is located in a remote building on the property. The environment is hot, dry, and dusty — comparable to working in mining applications. This role requires the ability and willingness to frequently ascend and descend large machines while carrying a backpack.
  • This is a fully on-site, 2nd shift role in Tucson, AZ.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • 2–4 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree; 1 year accepted with a Master’s degree. Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering or Computer Science curriculum required. In lieu of a degree, equivalent experience in test or development of control systems, vehicles, engines, or autonomy technologies will be considered.
  • Internship experience and hands-on project work may be counted toward the required years of experience — including school-based technical projects such as SAE clubs or other build/develop/test initiatives. Comparable backgrounds include roles in vehicle test or validation, or hands-on experience with heavy equipment.

Top 3 Skills

  • Computer literate with proficiency in Windows operating systems and standard productivity tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting ability across complex mechanical, electrical, and software systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills — able to think critically and drive resolution in dynamic, real-world testing environments.

Desired Technical Skills

  • Familiarity with Ubuntu or Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with test planning and technical documentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Familiarity with autonomous systems such as perception, planning, or positioning.

Required Soft Skills

  • Ability to clearly communicate technical information to both engineering and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a large, multi-disciplinary team.
  • Strong time management skills — able to balance multiple concurrent testing activities and meet program timelines.
