About Berry Law

Berry Law is a nationally recognized law firm committed to delivering exceptional legal representation to Veterans and other clients across the country. We foster a dynamic, modern, and collaborative work environment where motivated individuals can grow and succeed.

Mission of the Role

Ensure the firm’s core cloud and collaboration systems (M365/Entra, Intune, Exchange, Zoom, KnowBe4, Egress, and other similar or related services) are stable, secure, and well‑managed so attorneys and staff can work reliably every day—while reducing escalations to external MSPs and supporting the IT Service Manager on infrastructure and security initiatives.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Systems Administration (Approx. 60%)

  • Administer and maintain Microsoft 365 services, including:
  • Entra ID (identity, groups, conditional access)
  • Intune (device enrollment, configuration, compliance policies)
  • Exchange Online (mailboxes, distribution lists, policies)
  • Support and maintain assigned SaaS and collaboration tools: Zoom, KnowBe4, Egress, and similar platforms.
  • Perform regular patching, configuration, and health checks across managed systems, following standards set by the IT Service Manager and CIO/CISO.
  • Assist the IT Service Manager with infrastructure and security initiatives, including coordination around firewall/network changes and security controls that impact Entra, Intune, Exchange, and SaaS tools.
  • Maintain accurate inventories, licensing, and configuration documentation for assigned platforms.

Incident, Problem & Change (Approx. 40% – Tier 2/3)

  • Act as Tier 2/3 escalation for issues related to M365, Entra, Intune, Exchange, Zoom, KnowBe4, Egress, and related services.
  • Work closely with IT Support Technicians to resolve complex incidents, ensuring clear communication and minimal disruption for attorneys and staff.
  • Document resolutions and update knowledge base articles so more issues can be handled at Tier 1 over time.
  • Participate in change planning and execution (e.g., configuration changes, new policies, SaaS rollouts), following ITIL‑aligned change practices under the guidance of the IT Service Manager.
  • Coordinate with external MSPs and vendors for escalated issues and larger changes, ensuring clear handoffs and follow‑through.
  • Projects & Continuous Improvement
  • Lead small to medium system enhancement projects (e.g., new Intune configuration, Zoom or security tool improvements, new SaaS integrations) from planning through implementation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reliability, security, and user experience across assigned systems, and propose practical changes.
  • Provide input to IT Service Manager and CIO/CISO on process improvements and opportunities to reduce recurring issues.

Top 4–6 Performance Objectives (First 12–24 Months)

  • Stable and Well‑Managed M365 Environment: M365 (Entra, Intune, Exchange) is stable, documented, and consistently patched with no critical gaps or unmanaged systems. User onboarding/offboarding and device lifecycle are predictable and timely.
  • 2SaaS Collaboration & Security Tools Under Control: Zoom, KnowBe4, Egress, and other assigned SaaS tools are well‑configured and documented, with clean groups, policies, and access processes that support smooth operations and security awareness efforts.
  • Reduced Escalations and Faster Resolution: Tier 2/3 issues related to core systems are resolved quickly, with clear root‑cause notes and knowledge base entries, resulting in fewer repeat incidents and reduced reliance on external MSPs.
  • Documented, Repeatable Processes: Key system administration tasks (patching, configuration changes, user provisioning, license management, routine checks) are documented, repeatable, and visible to the IT Service Manager.
  • Successful Small/Medium Rollouts: Leads small to medium system rollouts or enhancements (e.g., Intune policy updates, Zoom configuration changes, new SaaS integrations) from planning through implementation and handover, with minimal disruption to attorneys and staff.

Competencies & Personal Attributes

  • Documentation‑Focused: Naturally documents configurations, procedures, and fixes so others can follow them and the environment is understandable and supportable.
  • Security‑Minded: Considers security impact in day‑to‑day administration; respects least privilege, strong identity practices, and firm/client confidentiality.
  • Calm Under Pressure: Handles urgent issues (e.g., attorney email, Zoom hearing problems) professionally and systematically.
  • Service‑Oriented: Balances technical rigor with responsiveness and clear communication to non‑technical users.
  • Collaborative & Supportive: Works well with IT Support Technicians and MSPs; willing to mentor and elevate the team’s overall technical capability.
  • Ownership & Follow‑Through: Takes responsibility for assigned systems and issues, following tasks through to completion and documentation.
