Role Description
The General Manager – Security Operations is a full-time, on-site role based in Reno, NV. This role oversees day-to-day security operations, including staffing, scheduling, and supervising security teams across assigned sites. The person in this role will manage client relationships, ensure service quality, and respond to operational issues, incidents, and escalations in a timely and professional manner. Responsibilities include developing and implementing security policies and procedures, monitoring performance metrics, and ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements. The General Manager will also collaborate with internal teams on budgeting, forecasting, training, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, efficiency, and client satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Proven experience leading security operations or similar protective services teams, with responsibility for staffing, scheduling, and performance management.
- Strong operational planning and execution skills, including incident response, risk assessment, and policy and procedure implementation.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships, manage expectations, and deliver high levels of service quality.
- Solid business and financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation in a service-oriented environment.
- Effective leadership, coaching, and conflict-resolution abilities, with a focus on building inclusive, high-performing teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing, documentation, and professional presentation to clients and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with security technology solutions (e.g., monitoring systems, access control, incident management tools) and willingness to learn new platforms.
- Ability to work on-site in Salt Lake City, UT, with flexibility to respond to urgent issues, after-hours needs, or critical incidents as required.
- Relevant certifications or training in security management, risk management, or related fields are beneficial (e.g., CPP, PSP, equivalent experience).
- Previous experience in contract security, executive protection, or law enforcement/military (or comparable operational leadership) is a strong plus.
