Program Assistant

The American College of Dentists in Rockville, Maryland is looking for a good fit to assist with continuing education program support for oral healthcare professionals. Our CE is mission-based, not clinical, and topics addressed by our subject matter experts are ethics, professionalism, and leadership.

Experience as a volunteer is helpful, as we have an all-volunteer Board and membership and seeing things from their perspective because you've been there comes in handy. Experience with Excel and databases is also helpful.

Specific tasks include creating online and paper surveys, producing continuing education certificates, maintaining continuing education records, and assisting with our learning management system. Assisting with office administration, such as answering the phone, would also be part of the job. Corresponding by phone and through email with a variety of leaders, vendors, subject matter experts, and members, is inherent to the position.

We are a few blocks from the Rockville Metro Station and a short block from Rockville Town Square. Our office is in the Montgomery Avenue Historic District, and we offer free parking and offer some flexibility with scheduling. We have almost no walk-ins, so our dress code is nice-casual, and we offer a highly collegial, supportive, small-team atmosphere.

This Position

• Is 20 -25 hours a week in our office;
• Includes two paid personal days and some paid holidays, such as Independence Day, as paid time off;
• Is temporary, and anticipated to last up to six months;
• Is likely to convert to a permanent, full-time position in 2027;
• Anticipated rate of pay: $21.00 per hour.
