This opportunity is a Social Services Specialist position within MS Department of Child Protection Services in the Congregate Care Unit. The Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services (MDCPS) is committed to protecting and nurturing Mississippi's at-risk children and families. About the Position
Conducts reviews and reports on Licensure Investigations when a contract provider is involved in allegations of maltreatment in care. MDCPS Congregate care shall within 30 days in receipt of substantiated report, initiate a licensure investigation that shall include an onsite inspection to determine if the contract providers are in compliance with licensure standings. Document all findings, investigation, and review, and compliance perforce base contract keys indicators in designed tracking tools, forms, and files as required documents are filed in agency files and uploaded to SharePoint electronic filing. Ensure all documents are reviewed for grammatical errors. spelling abs signature are present. Assist congregate care supervisor in development of licensing policies. Maintain knowledge and understanding of all licensure standards, updates, and components of the MSA. Demonstrates adequate preparedness for the annual review processes through knowledge of the providers/knowledge of services provided, etc. Demonstrate group facilitation/interviewing knowledge and skills and maintain an atmosphere during review that encourages participation by all participants. Maintains necessary attention to detail to achieve high-level performance and produces timely and accurate work product, communicated ideas, suggestion and concerns, as well as outcomes and progress throughout the process of an activity and provides thorough and accurate information. Is a good steward of state assets and assures that all assigned property is accounted for and that inventory sheets are provided to CQI Administrative team promptly for all property transfers and changes. Develops an organization needs or address barriers.

Preferred Qualifications
Typically requires a bachelor's degree and 1-3 years of experience. Appointing authority may require social worker's license. Hiring agency preferred qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in social work, social services, psychology, educational psychology, sociology, nursing, criminal justice, counseling, marriage and family therapy, family studies, or a related field. In this position, the salary maybe adjusted based on Education and Qualifications.
