Plans, implements and assesses occupational health and safety programs and processes to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. Develops and leads training and instructions. Interprets and advises on the impact of emerging issues, regulations and legislation to company operations. Evaluates and provides selection advice on existing or emergent risk management control technologies. Leads audits, inspections and investigations and coordinates resolution of issues. Develops corrective action plan to respond to internal/external audits and inspections. Works with management to facilitate risk management decisions. Analyzes emerging technology for the identification of potential hazards and control methods.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct health and safety audits to ensure company and OSHA compliance.
- Support production operations through identification and mitigation of risk throughout aircraft modification schedule, serving as primary Environment, Health and Safety focal to the aircraft program.
- Collaborate with other Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) personnel to ensure compliance with site and regulatory requirements associated with EHS programs.
- Interfacing with various organizations and departments across the site.
- Develop, coordinate, and deliver safety and health training; maintain and manage recordkeeping and reporting systems.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, technical analyses, and presentations for Operations and leadership.
- Participate in incident investigations, audits, inspections, and corrective action tracking.
- Evaluate the impact of emerging issues, regulations and legislation to company operations.
- Identify and develop corrective action plans to respond to internal/external audits and inspections.
- Work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively on cross functional teams.
Skills & Technical Competencies
- Anticipate, recognize, evaluate, and control workplace hazards and risks.
- Understands and recommends engineering, administrative, and PPE controls.
- Documentation, Communication & Training
- Technical report writing with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Prepare and present professional briefings and training materials.
- Develop and maintain recordkeeping and reporting systems.
- Program and project management
- Perform effective project management for assigned occupational safety programs
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- 5+ years of experience in Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS)
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate Safety Professional or Certified Safety Professional certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals
- 3+ years industrial safety experience
- Experience codifying regulatory requirements into written procedures or desk instructions
- Experience working across multiple programs and locations
- Experience with aircraft operations Preferred
- Prior experience in aerospace or MRO environments.
Pay Rate Range
70 - 75 USD hourly
