The Giving List Women is a Santa Barbara-based nonprofit dedicated to advancing gender equality and catalyzing philanthropy and investment strategies that center women and girls. Through curated gatherings, strategic partnerships, and thought leadership, we convene influential leaders, donors, investors, and changemakers to support global impact.

We are seeking a highly organized, relationship-oriented, and entrepreneurial Program & Events Manager to help lead the planning and execution of intimate, high-impact events and programs that inspire connection, collaboration, and meaningful giving.

Position Overview

The Program & Events Manager will manage the full lifecycle of events and related initiatives, working closely with the CEO, COO & VP of Strategy, partnerships and development lead, Communications Director, and program team members. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a mission-driven environment, enjoys bringing people together, and can balance strategic thinking with flawless execution.

Events will primarily include invite-only, small- to medium-sized gatherings of influential community leaders, philanthropists, donors, investors, and advocates in support of causes that advance women and girls.

Occasional travel and evening event attendance is required. This role reports to the COO & VP of Strategy at The Giving List Women.

Key Responsibilities

  • Event Strategy & Planning
  • Coordinate the end-to-end planning and execution of events, salons, donor gatherings, panel discussions, and special programs
  • Collaborate with leadership on event themes, guest strategy, programming, and partnerships
  • Develop event timelines, production schedules, and project management systems to ensure seamless execution
  • Research venues, vendors, speakers, and potential collaborators aligned with organizational goals
  • Outreach & Relationship Management
  • Support invitation strategy and guest outreach for high-level donors, community leaders, partners, and sponsors
  • Manage RSVP tracking, guest communications, seating coordination, and host relations
  • Help cultivate warm, professional relationships with stakeholders and community partners
  • Sponsorships & Budget Coordination
  • Assist with sponsorship outreach, proposal development, and stewardship
  • Track event budgets, invoices, timelines, and deliverables
  • Coordinate logistics with vendors, caterers, venues, and production partners
  • Communications & Marketing Coordination
  • Work closely with the communications team to support event messaging and promotional materials
  • Coordinate invitations, event briefs, follow-up communications, and donor-facing materials
  • Help ensure a polished and consistent brand experience across all touchpoints
  • Administrative & Operational Support
  • Maintain organized event records, timelines, and reporting documents
  • Participate in internal planning meetings and support cross-functional collaboration
  • Assist with post-event reporting, attendee feedback, and impact tracking
  • Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in event coordination, nonprofit programming, communications, hospitality, development, or related fields
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Experience managing multiple timelines and stakeholders simultaneously
  • Professional presence and comfort interacting with high-profile guests and donors
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a small team
  • Proficiency with CRM, event platforms, and project management tools
  • Experience in philanthropy, nonprofit development, women-centered initiatives, or mission-driven organizations is strongly preferred

Compensation & Schedule

  • Full-time, 40-hour work week
  • Hybrid role based in Santa Barbara, California (preferred), other locations considered
  • $75,000 - $105,000 annual salary, depending on experience, qualifications, and office location
  • Medical and life insurance coverage
  • 3% 403(b) company-provided retirement account contribution
  • Preferred start date: August, 2026
