Hyaluropsy

About Hyaluropsy

Hyaluropsy is pioneering a new generation of biomarker technologies at the intersection of extracellular matrix biology, biomaterials engineering, and precision medicine.

While most diagnostic platforms focus on genetic mutations, Hyaluropsy is unlocking a largely untapped source of biological information: the molecular signals released during tissue remodeling. Our proprietary technology enables the extraction and analysis of hyaluronic acid (HA) biomarkers from complex biological fluids, opening new possibilities for disease detection, monitoring, and therapeutic development.

Our first product is a research-use-only platform designed to standardize HA isolation from challenging samples such as plasma, empowering researchers to generate more reliable and reproducible biomarker data.

Founded by biomaterials scientist and entrepreneur Dr. Tugba Ozdemir, Hyaluropsy's long-term vision is to establish a reliable platform for extracellular matrix biomarker discovery and liquid biopsy applications.

We believe the next generation of diagnostics will not only read genes—it will read the dynamic biological changes occurring within tissues themselves.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Part-Time Product Development Associate to help transform Hyaluropsy’s hyaluronic acid (HA) extraction technology from a laboratory prototype into a commercially scalable research product.

This role sits at the intersection of biomaterials, membrane filtration, medical device development, and translational biotechnology. The successful candidate will work directly with the founder to optimize product performance, develop manufacturing workflows, generate validation data, and support the design of next-generation filtration platforms for biomarker research and future liquid biopsy applications.

This is an ideal opportunity for a graduate student, recent graduate, research scientist, or industry professional who wants hands-on experience building an early-stage biotech product with real commercialization potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support optimization and validation of the Hyaluropsy HA Extraction Kit.
  • Assist in the development of biomaterial and membrane-based filtration systems.
  • Design, prototype, and iterate product components using 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar).
  • Support 3D printing and rapid prototyping of device components and fixtures.
  • Execute experimental studies related to membrane filtration performance, reproducibility, and quality control.
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) and manufacturing workflows.
  • Conduct stability, storage, and batch-verification studies.
  • Analyze experimental data and prepare technical reports.
  • Contribute to customer beta-testing studies and product feedback collection.

Desired Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Hands-on laboratory experience.
  • Strong experimental design and documentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities.

Preferred

  • Experience with membrane filtration, biomaterials, microfluidics, or medical device development.
  • Experience with 3D CAD design and 3D printing.
  • Familiarity with handling biological fluids
  • Experience in basic molecular biology techniques such as ELISA, gel electrophoresis and plate based assays
  • Experience in product development, translational research, or startup environments.
  • Interest in biomarker discovery, osteoarthritis research, or liquid biopsy technologies.

What You’ll Gain

  • Direct exposure to biotech startup development and commercialization.
  • Experience spanning biomaterials, device design, filtration technology, and translational research.
  • Mentorship from an experienced scientist-founder and entrepreneur.
  • Opportunity to help launch a novel life-science product and contribute to the future of extracellular matrix biomarker diagnostics.

Compensation

  • Part-time (approximately 10 hours/week)
  • Competitive hourly compensation based on experience
  • Potential future equity participation based on performance and company growth
