Position Summary

Madera County Workforce is seeking a Principal Accounting Technician to support fiscal operations through complex accounting, recordkeeping, budget monitoring, financial reporting, and fund accounting activities. This position works under the direction of the Controller and plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting organizational fiscal compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile financial and statistical records

• Monitor budgets, expenditures, and revenues

• Prepare financial reports and balance sheets

• Process accounts, invoices, payments, and deposits

• Assist with budget development and cost accounting systems

• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies

Minimum Qualifications

• Five years of accounting experience involving complex accounting and recordkeeping systems; OR

• Associate's degree in Accounting or Business and two years of related accounting experience

• Valid California driver's license required

Salary & Benefits

Salary Range: $42,120 - $50,544 annually
