Job Title: Supply Chain Commodity Manager

Job Location: Livermore, CA (Hybrid) – (Onsite 3 Days, Remote – Mon & Fri)

Pay Rate: $80 – $91.14 / hour on W2 only

Job Type: Contract 12 months with possible extensions or C2H

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Commodity Manager to develop and execute long-term sourcing strategies for complex commodities supporting a global manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for building resilient supplier networks, driving cost and capacity initiatives, and ensuring suppliers meet quality, delivery, and business objectives. The position requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders and suppliers across multiple regions to support business growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commodity Strategy & Supplier Management
  • Develop and implement a multi-year commodity strategy that enhances supply availability, quality, cost competitiveness, and operational flexibility.
  • Manage assigned commodities, including OEM components and related supply categories.
  • Evaluate supplier capabilities and drive supplier expansion, consolidation, and selection initiatives aligned with business objectives.
  • Identify and support supplier investments in capacity expansion, technology, and process improvements.

Sourcing & Negotiations

  • Lead strategic sourcing activities and commercial negotiations to achieve annual targets related to cost reduction, quality improvement, lead time optimization, and supply continuity.
  • Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure delivery of negotiated commitments and long-term value.
  • Promote supplier performance management programs and foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
  • Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Execute sourcing strategies by gaining alignment from leadership teams and engaging stakeholders across the organization.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, operations, product management, and other internal groups to support business priorities.
  • Drive supply chain processes that improve prioritization, responsiveness, and decision-making.
  • Present recommendations, business cases, and supply chain updates to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.

Business Operations

  • Support a rapidly changing and complex supply chain environment by making informed decisions under tight timelines and evolving business conditions.
  • Balance multiple priorities while maintaining focus on strategic objectives and operational execution.
  • Contribute to the development of best-in-class supply chain practices and organizational capabilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related discipline; an MBA is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain, sourcing, commodity management, or procurement roles.
  • Strong experience negotiating commercial and contractual agreements.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
  • Experience working with global suppliers and cross-functional teams within a matrixed organization.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and presentation tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting semiconductor equipment, advanced manufacturing, or other highly technical industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and lead initiatives across geographically dispersed teams.
  • Experience presenting to senior leadership and managing strategic supplier relationships.

Work Arrangement

  • Hybrid schedule consisting of three days onsite and two days remote each week.
  • Full-time schedule, Monday through Friday.
  • Occasional domestic and international travel may be required.
