Position Overview

We're an international food manufacturing and distribution company that has been in business for over 30 years. Our team is growing, and we're looking for a QA Specialist to support our QA/QC operations.

Please note that bilingual English-Spanish is required for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine quality control inspections and product testing across production lines to verify conformance to specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Manage and document vendor sample verification, including chain-of-custody, sample receipt, testing, and disposition.
  • Perform audits and inspections to ensure adherence to FDA, USDA, and internal food safety requirements; prepare audit findings and follow-up corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate quality records and documentation, including batch records, test results, non-conformance reports, and CAPA records.
  • Support the development, review, and implementation of food safety and quality procedures (SOPs, HACCP, SSOPs) and ensure employee understanding and compliance.
  • Investigate customer complaints and non-conformances, lead root cause analysis, and coordinate corrective and preventive actions with production and supply chain teams.
  • Participate in supplier and process audits, evaluate supplier quality performance, and work with purchasing to manage non-conforming vendor materials.
  • Train production personnel on quality control standards, sampling procedures, and documentation requirements to promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Monitor environmental sampling, sanitation verification, and allergen controls as part of the FSQA program.
  • Prepare and present quality metrics and reports to Operations and Management to drive data-informed decisions.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual English-Spanish
  • 2+ years of experience in quality assurance/quality control within food manufacturing or a closely related industry.
  • Working knowledge of FDA and USDA regulations, HACCP principles, and common food safety standards.
  • Experience with FSQA/FSQC programs, including environmental monitoring, sanitation verification, and allergen control.
  • Strong documentation skills with experience managing quality records, CAPA processes, and supplier approval documentation.
  • Proficiency in vendor sample verification procedures and laboratory coordination.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform audits, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Excellent communication skills; bilingual Spanish/English strongly preferred to support a diverse workforce and supplier base.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Proficiency with quality management systems, electronic documentation, and common office software (e.g., MS Office).
