Boeing Workplace Solutions is seeking a highly skilled senior Java Developer to join our Communication and Collaboration team. This role focuses on supporting and enhancing key enterprise applications that drive collaboration across Boeing. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Java development, modernizing legacy systems, adding new features, and integrating with various enterprise platforms.

Position Responsibilities

  • Participates in all aspects of agile software development, including design, implementation, and deployment.
  • Works across the full stack, building highly scalable distributed solutions that enable positive user experiences and measurable business growth.
  • Enhance and modernize LDAP integration tools to improve security and performance.
  • Lead modernization of a legacy Java 8 application by upgrading language features and integrating an ORM framework (e.g., Hibernate, JPA).
  • Collaborates across time zones via Teams, Mattermost, GitHub, documents, and frequent videoconferences.
  • Cultivates a positive team culture, team motivation
  • Remediation of complex technical data issues in a regulated/defense environment.
  • This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to work 2 days a week onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

  • 6+ years of Java development experience, including migrating/upgrading applications from older Java versions to modern Java (Java 8 -> Java 11+ or similar).
  • Strong experience with Java Servlets and Java Server Pages (JSP).
  • Practical experience with HTML and JavaScript integration with Java backends.
  • Hands-on CI/CD pipeline experience (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD pipelines, or equivalent) and build tooling (Maven, Gradle).
  • Experience debugging, refactoring, and modernizing legacy codebases with minimal disruption.
  • Experience integrating and modernizing LDAP tools or similar directory services.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in short, focused engagements.
  • Hands-on experience with Application integrations.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

  • Experience with containerization and deploying to container platforms.
  • Exposure to modern front-end frameworks (React, Angular, Vue).
  • Previous experience with message routing/transport systems (helpful but not required).
  • Collaborating on international and multinational projects.

Pay Rate Range

95 - 100 USD hourly
