We’re looking for 4-7 years’ experience leading AV design projects, but we’ll consider more experienced and less experienced candidates who match the team well in other ways. The broad salary range presented here of $70,000 - $105,000 spans less-experienced folks to experienced design stars.
A detailed job description will be provided during the interview process. In general, this position will:
- Work with the owner to determine the system requirements.
- Oversee the design and product selection on your projects for audiovisual systems and related infrastructure.
- Estimate project budgets for audiovisual equipment and labor. Update these estimates as the project progresses.
- Coordinate with the design team to ensure systems are integrated with the architecture and other trades.
- Document the design in the form of drawings and specifications.
- Commission the systems once your design has been installed. Some travel required.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Experience designing audiovisual systems for performing arts venues, higher education facilities, corporate event spaces, experiential applications, and other relevant market sectors.
- Experience in software modeling for loudspeaker performance such as EASE, MAPP XT, Soundvision, ArrayCalc, etc.
- Experience calibrating/tuning performance audio systems using SMAART measurement software.
- Knowledge of the various components of a performance audio system and the ability to communicate how both the overall system and individual components function.
- Knowledge of different loudspeaker manufacturers and the ability to communicate the differences between them in terms of performance, functional capabilities, and system requirements.
- Experience working in AutoCAD, Revit, Vectorworks, or other computer-aided design/drafting software.
- Experience designing control systems using products from manufacturers such as Crestron, Extron, QSC.
- Eligibility to work in the United States.
Valued but not required skills and experience:
- Live sound or video production experience for theatre, sports venues, or other entertainment industries
- CTS, CTS-I, or CTS-D Certification
- Experience programming Digital Signal Processor (DSP) system files
- Fluency in Spanish, Mandarin, or Portuguese
