Job Details

Having one point of connection for our patients, ensures our patients are directed to the right party when they call our office. As a Patient Services Specialists you will have the opportunity to be a kind and helpful voice on the phone for our patients needing to schedule an appointment, speak with a nurse, and/or direct to the billing department with questions. You will have multiple team members around you, but you have your own cubicle that can be tailored to your style. Prior experience in a call center environment and/or medical office are a plus. This is a full-time (Monday - Friday, 8a-5p) opportunity located on the second floor of our West Des Moines office. Job will offer a remote opportunity once training is complete and employee is ready to work hybrid.

Here’s What You Can Expect

  • You will wear a headset, take incoming calls, gather information accurately and quickly about patients, insurance, and their situation.
  • You will help match them with either a referred provider or the first available provider for their particular issue.
  • Our patients are hurting, so you are understanding that they may not always be super pleasant, however, they are very grateful. You will work in a place that expects outstanding experiences; we do this by working hard to assume the best and being curious with all around us

What We’re Looking For

  • Communication. You know how to communicate clearly and professionally. You know how important it is to listen, ask questions, and avoid interrupting.
  • Customer Service. Experience working with individuals with varying backgrounds to provide the necessary assistance and information. Call center, phone experience, preferred.
  • Calm. Ability to provide reassurance when patients are nervous.
  • Multi-tasker. Efficiently take in information while researching, to organize thoughts and quickly assist the patient in a timely manner.
