What tutoring at Thrive looks like
You'll work one-on-one with K-12 students across core academic subjects -- reading, writing, math, science, test prep, or whatever sits in your wheelhouse. Sessions are typically 60-90 minutes, recurring weekly, with the same students over time. This isn't a gig-by-gig marketplace where you're constantly starting over with new families. When Thrive makes a match, it's built to last.
You'll communicate directly with the family, show up prepared, and track your student's progress over time. We'll handle scheduling logistics, payment collection, and any friction that comes up on the family side. Your job is to teach.
Sessions can be in-person, virtual, or a combination. We have families across [metro area] and work with remote students nationwide.
Who does well here
The tutors who thrive in our network tend to share a few things in common. They show up consistently and on time. They communicate clearly with families, in writing and in conversation. They adapt to how a student learns rather than delivering the same lesson plan every week. And they're genuinely invested in results, not just hours billed.
You don't need to be a former classroom teacher, though many of our tutors are. What matters more is whether you can meet a student where they are, build trust with their family, and move them forward.

Benefits
Compensation

What you get as part of the Thrive network
- Consistent client matches with families who value education and show up prepared
- A team that handles intake, scheduling logistics, and family communication so you can focus on teaching
- Flexibility to build a schedule around your availability
- Access to a community of professional educators who take their work seriously
- Priority consideration for Private Teacher Placement opportunities as they become available (our highest-tier offering for families seeking a full-time private educator)
A note on selectivity
We're selective about who joins the Thrive network, and that's intentional. The families we work with have high expectations, and we only make introductions when we're confident in the match. If you're accepted, that means something.
We review applications on a rolling basis and reach out to strong candidates as matching opportunities arise. There's no single "open role" here -- we're building a pipeline of educators we trust.
