Diagnostic Scheduler - Cardiology Diagnostics

Overview
Responsible for coordination and execution of all aspects of patient scheduling for the Cardiology Diagnostics Department. Performs clerical tasks, assists with greeting patients, and accompanying the patient to the department for testing.
Responsibilities
- Schedule procedures in the Cardiology Diagnostic Department.
- Coordinates diagnostic imaging with other testing areas within the Hospital.
- Interacts by telephone, in person, and by email with patients and other ancillary services.
- Manages fax queue.
- Manages phones and communication for Cardiology Diagnostics.
- Ensures acuracy of provider order.
- Ensure patient insurance information is accurate.
- Enters the request for services, patient demographic data, third party payer and authorization information into the scheduling software.
- Maintain clean, neat and efficient work area.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by manager/director.
Additional Information
Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years of related experience Required
- Knowledge of medical terminology and strong computer skills Preferred
- Strong computer skills. Communicates and uses appropriate customer relation skills with providers, patients, families, and healthcare team in person and via telephone.
- BCLS - Basic Life Support within 30 Days Preferred
