How would you contribute?

This role is a contributing member of our Airlite - Omaha team, located in Omaha, NE. As a Maintenance Mechanic C you are a key to continued growth and success of Airlite. Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as, motors, pneumatic systems, conveyor systems and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties

  • Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
  • Detects malfunctions and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
  • Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
  • Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
  • Installs and maintains water tower systems.
  • Installs and sets up new machines, to include air compressors, molding machines, automation equipment, print and machine shop equipment.
  • Assembles, installs, and maintains water pipe systems, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
  • Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools.
  • Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
  • Responsible for reporting food safety problems to management.
  • Document work activities in computer
  • Provide and maintain a personal industrial tool set and toolbox suitable for performing routine maintenance tasks.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and OSHA regulations including LOTO policy.
  • Adhere to established housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and organized work environment.
  • Maintains Airlite’s attendance standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English. Ability to write routine reports in English. Ability to speak effectively with company employees and supervisors in English.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and ability to calculate figures and amounts such as area, circumference and volume.
  • Ability to read a tape and calipers.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to use hand tools.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing and Excel software
  • Upholds and supports organizational goals and values.
  • Take the initiative to ask for and offer help when needed.
  • Ability to work a minimum of 45 hours weekly.
  • Works weekends and holidays, as required by company maintenance priorities, machine installation schedules and plant emergencies.
  • Associate's degree (A. A.) from two-year college or technical school.
  • Or three years of successful maintenance experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Color vision; Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is loud.

In this role, you may be required to use, handle and dispose of hazardous materials such as; metal working fluids, alcohol, waste oil and other routine industrial chemicals. Safety Data Sheets are available for all materials in which you may be exposed.
