Location: Lincoln, NE (Hybrid – 2 days/week in office; remote options available)

Role Overview
Seeking an AI Engineer to design, build, and ship AI-powered features in production. Work across the stack from prompt design and model integration to evaluation, deployment, and optimization. Partner with product, design, and engineering teams to turn business needs into reliable AI systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement AI-powered features and applications
- Research, fine-tune, and deploy machine learning and large language models
- Integrate AI models into existing applications and backend systems via APIs and scalable architectures
- Build and maintain data pipelines (collecting, cleaning, preparing, validating datasets)
- Monitor, evaluate, and maintain model performance through testing and benchmarking
- Optimize AI systems for scalability, latency, reliability, and cost efficiency
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Engineering teams
- Contribute to AI development processes, tooling, and best practices
- Communicate AI capabilities and limitations to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Promote responsible AI practices (bias mitigation, ethical considerations, transparency)
Requirements
- 5+ years professional software engineering experience, including production AI/ML systems
- Experience delivering at least one AI-powered product or feature to end users
- Strong programming skills, particularly in Python
- Experience with ML/DL frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX)
- Familiarity with LLM ecosystems (prompt engineering, embeddings, vector databases, RAG pipelines)
- Experience fine-tuning and evaluating ML/LLM models
- Knowledge of cloud platforms and scalable AI/ML deployment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of AI limitations, bias mitigation, and ethical considerations
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent experience
Work Schedule
Hybrid schedule requiring two days per week in the Lincoln, Nebraska office. Onsite requirements may be adjusted based on business needs.
