Job Summary
All basic and necessary Administrative work.
Job Duties Duties & Responsibilities
- Greet all visitors to the department.
- Makes all travel arrangements for the Chairperson
- Exercises independent judgment and initiative, sensitive to the department.
- Prepares all employment documents for temporary and full-time faculty.
- Answers the telephone and directs persons to the proper channels.
Requested Minimum Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or GED is required.
Experience: Three years secretarial experience is required.

Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience

- A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.

- Skill in composing a variety of correspondence; in operating manual and automated office equipment; in managing filing systems; in gathering and summarizing information
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and handling sensitive matters with discretion and tact. Ability to project a professional and positive image
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to make effective oral presentations
- Ability to interact with students, public officials and staff at all levels in a courteous and efficient manner
- Plan, organize, prioritize, and execute complicated and continuing assignments without instruction
