Position Summary
WSU Tech is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead advanced manufacturing and automation training initiatives through the Hub for Advanced Manufacturing Research (HAMR). This position serves as the primary connection between industry partners, WSU Tech, and other stakeholders to develop and deliver workforce training solutions that support the evolving needs of advanced manufacturing.
The Senior Project Manager will oversee training operations, manage projects, cultivate industry partnerships, and support curriculum and program development related to manufacturing and automation technologies. This role also supervises professional and student staff while helping expand WSU Tech's impact within the manufacturing community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and maintaining relationships with industry partners, manufacturers, consultants, and workforce organizations.
- Developing and overseeing manufacturing and automation training programs and applied learning opportunities.
- Managing day-to-day operations and training activities at HAMR, including supervision of staff.
- Identifying opportunities to expand partnerships and grow workforce development initiatives.
- Serving as a liaison for emerging technologies in automation and advanced manufacturing.
- Coordinating curriculum resources, training materials, and equipment for industry partners.
- Representing WSU Tech at industry meetings, conferences, and community events.
- Monitoring industry trends and helping shape future training and workforce solutions.
Requirements
Qualifications
Candidates should possess:
- A bachelor's degree in a related field; master's degree preferred. Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
- Five years of experience in manufacturing, automation, machining, workforce development, or a related field.
- Experience developing, implementing, or delivering technical training programs preferred.
- Knowledge of advanced manufacturing technologies such as robotics, PLC programming, machining processes, industrial networking, quality systems, or automation.
- Strong project management, communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
