The firm is led by an experienced team of private equity professionals who have collectively transacted on billions of dollars of assets across the music and entertainment sectors. Lyric’s investment team is seeking an Associate to support investment underwriting, financial modeling, market analysis, deal execution, and portfolio management across the firm’s music-royalty funds. The Associate will work directly with senior leadership, assume an integral role on deal teams, and is expected to take meaningful ownership from day one. The role operates at the intersection of music, data, intellectual property, and long-duration cash-flow investing.

Key Responsibilities

Investment Underwriting & Analysis

• Build and maintain financial models used to evaluate new investment opportunities, including DCF, IRR, NPV, return-sensitivity, and asset-performance analyses.

• Synthesize large datasets from multiple sources to support valuation, underwriting, and investment conclusions.

• Prepare investment committee materials, deal memoranda, and market analyses supporting capital deployment decisions.

• Support the deal team across diligence, transaction execution, financing, legal documentation, and closing.

Market & Industry Research

• Develop expertise in music consumption trends, streaming behavior, catalog performance drivers, and royalty-market dynamics.

• Analyze consumption shifts, macroeconomic conditions, and platform-level developments to assess impact on asset performance.

• Translate complex data and industry trends into clear investment conclusions.

Portfolio Management & Firmwide Support

• Monitor portfolio performance and identify emerging risks, opportunities, and value-creation initiatives.

• Support asset management, reporting, and performance review processes, and maintain relationships with administrators, data partners, and other counterparties.

• Prepare presentation materials for capital raising, investor reporting, and internal and external communications.

Qualifications

Lyric seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intellectually curious, and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. Qualifications for this role include, but are not limited to:

• 2–3 years of relevant experience in investment banking, private equity, consulting, asset management, analytics, corporate finance, or a comparable analytical role.

• Demonstrated experience building financial models, including DCFs, returns analyses, and valuation materials.

• Ability to aggregate, clean, and analyze large datasets.

• Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; strong command of Word.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings to internal and external stakeholders.

• High attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-moving environment.

• Experience with analytics platforms such as Sigma or Metabase is strongly preferred but not required.

• A genuine interest in investing, business, data, and music-related asset classes.
