Lyric is seeking an Associate to strengthen the firm’s financial planning, analysis, forecasting, and reporting function across its portfolio and music assets. The Associate will serve as a finance partner to the investment team and senior leadership, with responsibility for forecasting, performance analysis, valuation support, and data-driven recommendations that influence portfolio strategy.

The role combines traditional FP&A responsibilities with the specialized analytics and asset-level modeling required to manage a music-royalty portfolio. As Lyric continues to grow, the Associate will help build the analytical and reporting infrastructure that supports portfolio oversight, capital planning, investor reporting, and long-term value creation.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning, Forecasting & Budgeting

• Build and maintain financial models supporting annual budgets, portfolio return analyses, covenant tests, dividend planning, and strategic decision-making.

• Develop rolling forecasts incorporating updated royalty trends, new acquisitions, market conditions, operating data, and portfolio performance.

• Conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses to evaluate risk/reward outcomes and inform capital allocation.

Performance Analysis & Reporting

• Analyze portfolio performance and identify key drivers of variance versus budget, forecast, and underwriting expectations.

• Prepare financial reporting packages for senior leadership, including royalty-specific KPIs, traditional financial metrics, variance commentary, and actionable insights.

• Develop dashboards and recurring analytics highlighting trends, risks, performance drivers, and value-creation opportunities.

• Support fund valuation exercises, board materials, lender reporting, and other internal and external reporting requirements.

Strategic Finance & Platform Buildout

• Serve as a finance partner to investment, operations, portfolio management, accounting, reporting, and royalty administration teams.

• Provide recommendations on portfolio strategy, capital deployment, operating performance, and financial improvement initiatives.

• Lead or support strategic projects, reporting enhancements, and the continued buildout of Lyric’s FP&A systems, analytical tools, and reporting infrastructure as the firm scales.

Qualifications

Lyric seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intellectually curious, and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. Qualifications for this role include, but are not limited to:

• Strong financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and analytical skills.

• Experience with performance reporting, variance analysis, and management reporting.

• Familiarity with credit facilities, covenant reporting, lender materials, or fund-level reporting is preferred.

• Ability to synthesize complex financial and operating data into clear insights and recommendations for senior stakeholders.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
