Position Summary

The Systems Administrator plays a vital role in providing comprehensive system administration, analysis, design, evaluation, standardization, implementation, and maintenance of client and server-based network operating systems, services, servers, and associated network server hardware and software. The Systems Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining CNM's computer systems, including servers, networks, and software applications. This position ensures the smooth operation of the IT infrastructure, perform system backups, monitor system performance, and troubleshoot any issues that arise. System Administrators are responsible for implementing security measures, managing user accounts, and providing technical support to employees.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Installs, configures, and maintains hardware and software on servers to establish a stable and secure computing environment.

  • Setting up, configuring, and maintaining all servers and fundamental applications.

  • Maintains and monitors the integrity of the network operating system and security access to network servers, administering file-based intrusion detection systems, and ensuring data integrity.

  • Integrates production systems with centralized monitoring tools.

  • Researches, installs, and tests software updates and patches for supported applications and various operating systems.

  • Utilizes system diagnostic and network operating system tools to troubleshoot system failures and network-related problems, determining and resolving problem sources, and coordinating support with hardware/software vendors as needed.

  • Designs, plans, coordinates, and implements core-computing services for use in complex local and wide area networks.

  • Evaluates, plans, designs, implements, and maintains, core-computing services for use in complex local and wide area networks, standardized server and workstation configurations.

  • Designs, manages, monitors, and maintains VMware virtualization and SAN storage infrastructure.

  • Recommends, designs, plans, implements projects that provide crucial services for the computing infrastructures.

  • Researches new technologies, presents recommendations on hardware/software purchases, and provides direction, technical advice, and guidance.

  • Invests, plans, and tests new releases of server, virtualization, and desktop operating systems, enterprise systems, patching, and upgrades.

  • Creates, tests, monitors new users, and provides access to necessary resources within the infrastructure.

  • Provides technical support and guidance to users and to Desktop Support/Service Desk teams as required.

  • Performing other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND Two (2) years of related experience

OR

  • Associate’s Degree AND Four (4) years of related experience

OR

  • A combination of education and experience may be substituted for requirements of the position
