Senior Technical Designer - Derek Lam 10 Crosby

NYC Alliance seeks a highly skilled Senior Technical Designer with extensive experience in contemporary and premium apparel to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of fit, construction, and technical specifications across multiple categories, along with the ability to communicate clearly with factories, cross-functional partners, and retail partners. This role is essential in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality, fit consistency, and brand integrity from initial development through production. • Develop technical packages for fit sample development in all categories

• Evaluate fit samples, pre-production and TOP samples for specs, quality and workmanship

• Participate in maintaining consistency of product fit, technical specifications and development processes across brands

• Conduct fittings with designers and internal teams on live models and body forms

• Write fit comments to factories based on fittings, providing clear technical comments and illustrations/photos

• Maintain a product library for future reference

• Correspond with factories and cross-functional partners on a daily basis to solve problems and ensure product integrity

• Work with the Production department on follow-up and timing of approval comments to meet delivery expectations

• Act as a liaison between Design, Sales, Production, and Factory to ensure samples are made to correct specifications

• Plan appropriate fit schedules with models and designers

• Update and maintain department fit logs

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in Technical Design

• Experience working with contemporary and premium fashion brands

• Knowledge of assembling detailed technical packages to communicate proper instructions to agents/factories for style development

• Extensive experience participating in fittings and evaluating garment construction and fit

• Ability to assign clear and accurate points of measure

• Ability to determine appropriate grade rules across all points of measure

• Highly organized and experienced in all phases of technical design

• Ability to partner and collaborate with cross-functional teams

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines with a high sense of urgency

• Proficiency with PLM

Annual Salary: $120,000
