Role Description

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking General Laborer to join our construction team. This position plays a vital role in assisting various projects by performing essential tasks to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow on-site. As a General Laborer, you will be responsible for supporting skilled tradesmen and other crew members, contributing to the overall success of our construction endeavors. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will be tasked with various labor-intensive activities that require physical stamina, teamwork, and adherence to safety protocols. Responsibilities

• Assist skilled tradespeople as needed to facilitate project completion
• Perform general site clean-up and maintenance duties to ensure a safe working environment
• Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment onto and from trucks and storage areas
• Follow instructions in completing assignments, including moving materials and setting up work areas
• Participate in the assembly and disassembly of scaffolding, forms, and other temporary structures
• Operate basic hand tools and power equipment as required for various tasks
• Report any safety hazards or equipment issues to supervisors promptly

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
• Previous experience in construction or a labor-related field is a plus
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks
• Familiarity with basic hand tools and power tools is advantageous
• Strong commitment to safety practices and procedures
• Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude in the workplace

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour / weekly pay

• Mechanical knowledge: 1 year (Preferred)
• Construction: 1 year (Required)

License/Certification:

• Lake Charles, LA 70601: Relocate before starting work (Required)
