The College also offers six graduate programs: Aviation Management, Clinical Trials Management, Pharmaceutical Science and Business, Physician Assistant, Social Work and Nursing Education.

The College’s 50-acre campus encompasses seven buildings, including science and computer labs, music and television studios, a Performing Arts Center, and a Health and Physical Education Center. Reporting to the VP of Student Affairs, the Student Athletics Director is responsible for providing administrative oversight for the Office of Intercollegiate Athletics, which includes administering all of the facilities, athletic teams and fiscal operations. In addition, the Director is responsible for ensuring the Office of Intercollegiate Athletics is in full compliance with NCAA Division III rules, policies and regulations as well as The City University of New York Athletics Conference (CUNYAC). The Director is also responsible for implementing a holistic athletics program that is consistent with the institution's missions and values.
The Student Athletics Director provides administrative leadership and oversight for Athletics Department staff, programs, facilities, and activities, which includes:
Oversight for all athletics programs, facilities and equipment as well as scheduling and budget management.
Ensuring compliance with federal, York College, CUNY Athletic Conference and NCAA rules and regulations.
Oversight for student -athlete eligibility lists for York College, CUNY Athletic Conference and NCAA.
Coordinate travel arrangements and assist with transporting student-athletes to and from games or other athletic programs
Fundraising & Revenue Strategy: Lead development and execution of multi-year fundraising and sponsorship planning; design and implement sustainable revenue-generating initiatives to support department growth.
Communications & Branding Strategy: Direct integrated communications planning across digital, social, media relations, and internal messaging.
Assessment & Self-Study: Oversee comprehensive multi-year athletics assessment; manage data collection, analysis, and reporting, and lead preparation of institutional self-study submissions.
Departmental Strategic Planning: Draft and manage Athletics Strategic Plan aligned with institutional mission and VP priorities.
Coaching Assessments: Design and lead comprehensive coaching assessment frameworks incorporating data analytics, direct observation, and student-athlete feedback to inform personnel decisions and program improvement.
Academic Success Framework for Student-Athletes: Identify at-risk students, design interventions, and launch development programming.
Student-Athlete Experience Analysis: Direct the design, administration and analysis of the annual student-athlete experience survey; translate insights into actionable recommendations to enhance engagement, retention, and overall student satisfaction
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree and eight years' related experience required.
In addition, the following qualifications will be highly preferred:
A Master’s degree in related field (Athletic Administration, Sports Management, Higher Education Administration, or related program). Five (5) years of progressive experience in athletic administration, staff supervision and facility management is highly preferred (preferably in a college or university setting).
Experience with aquatic operations desired. Evidence of successful implementation of intercollegiate and student recreational programs for a diverse student population required. Knowledge of best practices in athletics and recreational programs with an emphasis on research, assessment, and data-informed decision-making. Must possess strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with attention to detail and proven leadership experience. Ability to work evening hours and weekends.
The Student Athletics Director should be a dynamic individual who can work independently and under general supervision to provide courteous and accurate customer service to all students, visitors and campus community. The successful candidate should be or have been involved in professional associations; be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, managing social media, and designing promotional and informational materials. They should have a proven ability to lead, motivate, and provide supervision, strong administrative leadership, and serve as an advocate for the needs of the athletics and recreational programs, including protected categories (including sexual orientation or gender identity).

Establish and maintain appropriate policies and standards for teams and recreational groups
Collect and analyze departmental statistics and data and prepare and distribute reports as appropriate

$131,440 - $141,643 - Salary commensurate with education and experience.
