Role Description
The legal assistant role at Sulahian Law is a part-time to full-time, on-site position based in Pasadena, CA. This is NOT a remote position. The legal assistant will support the attorney with daily administrative and legal tasks, including general office duties, preparing and formatting legal documents, organizing case files, and maintaining calendars and deadlines. The role involves managing client communications, scheduling appointments, and coordinating with courts and external parties as needed. The legal assistant will assist with legal research, document review, and case preparation, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Foundational knowledge of law and legal processes, with an understanding of how legal assistants support attorney workflows.
- Proficiency in legal document preparation, including drafting, formatting, proofreading, and organizing legal forms, pleadings, and correspondence.
- Strong communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication with clients, courts, and internal team members.
- Experience in administrative assistance, including calendar management, filing, data entry, and office coordination in a legal or professional setting.
- Relevant experience as a legal assistant or in a similar legal support role in a law firm or professional services environment.
- High level of organization, accuracy, and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Proficiency with common office and legal software (e.g., Microsoft Office, document management systems); familiarity with accounting or tax-related documents is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and experience; paralegal or legal assistant certification is preferred but not required.
