Role Description

Brown Design Group is seeking a highly organized and detail oriented Residential Interior Design Assistant/ Project Manager to join our team in Boca Raton, FL. This is a full time, in office position supporting our residential design team throughout all phases of the design process.

The ideal candidate will assit with design development while also managing project execution, procurement, vendor coordination, scheduling and client communication. This individual will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and at the highest level of quality and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in interior design, project management or a related field preferred
  • Strong knowledge of resiential interior design principles and furnishings
  • Proficiency in Space Planning and furniture layouts
  • Strong skills in Interior Design and Furniture selection
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in design software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar) is highly desirable
  • Bachelor's degree or certification in Interior Design or a related field is preferred
  • Experience coordinating vendors, contractors and client communications

Key Responsibilities

Design Support

  • Assist designers with space planning, furniture layouts and design presentations
  • Develop and maintain floor plans, furniture plans and project documetation
  • Research furniture, lighting, accessories, materials and finishes
  • Prepare client presentations, mood boards and design specifications
  • Assist with product selections and sourcing
  • Maintain accurate design files, finish schedules and prject records

Project Management

  • Coordinate project schedules, timelines and key milestones
  • Manage procurement activities including purchase orders, vendor follow up and tracking deliveries
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, installers and speciality trades
  • Monitor project budgets and assist with tracking client approvals and expenditures
  • Schedule and attend site visits, installations and project meetings
  • Communicate regularly with clients regarding project status, timelines and outstanding decisions
  • Identify and proactively resolve project issues to maintain schedules and client expectations
  • Coordinate installation logistics and oversee punch list completion
  • Ensure project documentation is complete, accurate and updated throughout the project lifecycle
