Reliability Program & Equipment Performance

  • Lead the development and implementation of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to improve plant reliability.
  • Analyze equipment performance data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for reliability improvement.
  • Conduct or oversee root cause failure analyses (RCFA) and recommend engineering solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to prioritize reliability initiatives and optimize maintenance plans.
  • Oversee installation, commissioning, and startup of new equipment, ensuring reliability considerations are incorporated.
  • Develop metrics and reporting systems to track equipment health, maintenance effectiveness, and reliability improvements.
  • Support mechanical integrity and asset management programs by ensuring inspections, audits, and compliance activities are completed effectively.

Documentation, Compliance & Quality Control

  • Maintain accurate records of equipment performance, maintenance history, and reliability projects.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and quality standards related to plant equipment and reliability programs.
  • Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to ensure proper use of CMMS for tracking reliability and maintenance activities.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to maintenance procedures and reliability standards.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Provide guidance, mentoring, and technical support to Reliability Technicians and maintenance staff.
  • Communicate reliability goals, performance metrics, and project updates to plant management and cross-functional teams.
  • Participate in safety meetings, audits, and reliability training initiatives to foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Lead or support turnaround planning, shutdowns, and critical maintenance projects from a reliability perspective.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

EDUCATION

  • Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in a technical field required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical field (Mechanical Engineering, Reliability Engineering) or similar field preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES

  • CAT III Vibration Analyst certification preferred.

Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in maintenance, reliability, or mechanical engineering in chemical, petrochemical, refining, or industrial manufacturing environments.
  • Proven experience leading reliability programs, predictive maintenance, and equipment improvement projects.
  • Hands-on experience or exposure to pumps, valves, rotating equipment, fixed equipment, and mechanical integrity programs.
  • Demonstrated success mentoring technicians and working cross-functionally to improve plant performance.
