McGuff Pharmaceuticals is seeking a full-time Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) to join our FDA-registered sterile pharmaceutical manufacturing organization and 503B Outsourcing Facility.

Position Overview

Physician Education and Conference Support

  • The pharmacist will represent McGuff Pharmaceuticals at approximately eight physician conferences and conventions annually, primarily serving physicians practicing integrative medicine, regenerative medicine, anti-aging medicine, wellness medicine, parenteral nutrition, and other complementary or alternative medicine specialties.
  • Meeting physicians and healthcare professionals at conference exhibits, networking events, and educational programs.
  • Building professional relationships with current and prospective customers.
  • Attending educational lectures and training sessions alongside physicians to better understand emerging therapies, treatment approaches, and evolving medical needs.
  • Identifying opportunities where McGuff's 503B pharmaceutical products can support physician practices and patient care.
  • Providing clinical and product information regarding McGuff's 503B sterile pharmaceutical products.
  • Gathering market intelligence and identifying new business opportunities.
  • Serving as a clinical and product resource during conferences and educational events.
  • Participating in discussions with physicians and healthcare professionals regarding clinical applications, product selection, and emerging therapies.
  • When appropriate, providing informal educational presentations, answering attendee questions, and representing McGuff Pharmaceuticals as a knowledgeable subject matter expert.

Customer Service and Clinical Support

  • Answering product-related questions.
  • Assisting physicians, nurses, and office staff with product selection and use.
  • Supporting customer service activities.
  • Helping resolve customer concerns.
  • Participating in product complaint investigations and adverse event review activities.
  • Serving as a trusted clinical resource for customers.
  • A strong desire to help customers and provide exceptional service is essential.
  • Manufacturing Oversight and cGMP Operations

The pharmacist will receive extensive training in current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), aseptic processing, and sterile manufacturing operations within McGuff's FDA-registered 503B Outsourcing Facility.

Responsibilities include

  • Oversight of sterile manufacturing activities.
  • Observation of critical manufacturing operations.
  • Verification of adherence to approved batch records and procedures.
  • Support of Good Documentation Practices.
  • Escalation of deviations, investigations, and non-conformances.
  • Participation in product quality and patient safety initiatives.
  • Backup support for pharmacists responsible for routine oversight of sterile manufacturing operations.

Licensing and Professional Development

The pharmacist will

  • Obtain pharmacist licensure in at least three additional states, with company support.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development activities.
  • Develop expertise in sterile pharmaceutical manufacturing, quality systems, and regulatory operations.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, and Customer Service departments.

Qualifications- Required

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).
  • Active California Pharmacist License.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Enjoyment of meeting and interacting with physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals.
  • Willingness to travel for conferences and trade shows.
  • Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure in additional states.
  • Strong customer-service orientation.
  • Strong relationship-building and networking skills.
  • Desire to learn new clinical concepts and therapies.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and enthusiasm for emerging therapies, medical innovations, and evolving treatment approaches.
  • Ability to work effectively within a structured cGMP environment.

Highly Desired

  • Comfortable representing McGuff Pharmaceuticals at professional conferences, educational programs, and industry events.
  • Confidence speaking with physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals in both individual and group settings.
  • Ability to serve as a knowledgeable subject matter resource when interacting with healthcare professionals.
  • Interest in attending educational programs and clinical lectures to better understand customer needs and emerging medical trends.
  • Ability to identify customer needs and recognize opportunities to support practice growth through McGuff products and services.

Helpful but Not Required

  • Experience with sterile compounding or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Experience with cGMP operations.
  • Experience in FDA-regulated environments.
  • Experience in customer support, physician education, sales support, or clinical education.
  • Experience speaking at professional meetings or educational events.

No prior pharmaceutical manufacturing experience is required. McGuff Pharmaceuticals will provide comprehensive training in cGMP compliance, sterile manufacturing operations, and 503B Outsourcing Facility requirements for the right candidate.

Schedule & Work Location

  • On-site position based in the Santa Ana / Costa Mesa, California area
  • Monday through Friday
  • Day shift (generally 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
  • Occasional travel for conferences and educational programs
  • This position is not eligible for remote or hybrid work arrangements
