DMA Architecture
Senior Revit Modeler / Architectural Production Specialist
DMA Architecture is seeking a highly skilled Revit Modeler / Architectural Production Specialist to join our small architectural firm in Winston-Salem, NC. This is not a remote position.
This is not an entry-level drafting position. We are looking for someone with strong architectural Revit production experience who can step into active projects, model accurately, produce construction documents, and work with limited day-to-day training. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-sufficient, and comfortable working in a small firm environment where accuracy, communication, and follow-through matter.
DMA Architecture is located in the West End Historic District of Winston-Salem. Our work includes single-family residential, commercial, industrial, and urban mixed-use projects.
The Right Candidate
A successful candidate will be able to take ownership of their Revit production work, understand the intent behind markups, recognize related revisions across the drawing set, coordinate drawings with the model and consultant backgrounds, and produce clean, accurate construction documents with limited supervision.
Primary Responsibilities
- Produce architectural construction documents in Revit from design direction, sketches, markups, existing drawings, field dimensions, cut sheets, and consultant backgrounds.
- Build and maintain accurate architectural Revit models from early schematic design through construction documents and record/as-built documentation.
- Create, edit, and manage plans, elevations, sections, details, schedules, legends, sheets, annotations, a full construction document set.
- Coordinate architectural models with structural, civil, and MEP consultant drawings.
- Review your own work for accuracy, completeness, and consistency before submitting it for review.
- Modify and create Revit families as needed for project-specific conditions.
- Work collaboratively with architects, project managers, designers, and other team members.
- Help maintain office Revit standards, details, templates, and production workflows.
Required Qualifications
- Strong professional experience producing architectural drawings in Revit.
- Ability to work independently with a high level of accuracy.
- Experience producing construction documents, not just schematic models or presentation models.
- Strong understanding of architectural drafting, detailing, sheet organization, dimensions, tags, schedules, and documentation standards.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, consultant drawings, redlines, cut sheets, and shop drawings.
- ·A practical understanding of how buildings are assembled and detailed, with the ability to recognize when drawings or model conditions do not make construction sense.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to catch errors before drawings are issued.
- Ability to work from sketches, redlines, field notes, consultant drawings, and verbal direction while identifying missing information and communicating assumptions clearly.
- Ability to recognize when an isolated markup requires related revisions throughout the model and drawing set.
- Ability to maintain clean, organized Revit models and avoid shortcuts that create long-term coordination or documentation problems.
- Comfortable working in a small-firm environment where team members are expected to take ownership, communicate clearly, and contribute across multiple phases of production.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience creating or modifying complex parametric Revit families.
- Understanding of Revit formulas, visibility parameters, nested families, constraints, scheduling, and model organization.
- Experience with residential, commercial, industrial, or urban mixed-use projects.
- Experience with SketchUp, D5 Render, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar visualization tools.
- Interest in growing into a higher-level BIM / Revit standards role over time.
