Church Overview

Central Baptist Church is a growing, Christ-centered, Bible-believing family of believers committed to exalting the Lord, equipping believers through discipleship, and evangelizing the world. We desire to invest deeply in the next generation by helping students grow in their faith, build meaningful relationships, and live out the gospel in everyday life. Our campus has an entire wing dedicated to our student ministry which we are in the process of remodeling for our students. The incoming student pastor would get to help cast the vision for the remainder of the process with a clean slate.

Position Summary

The Student Pastor is responsible for leading, developing, and overseeing the student ministry of Central Baptist Church. This role focuses on discipling middle school and high school students, equipping volunteers, partnering with parents, and fostering a ministry environment that encourages spiritual growth, biblical understanding, and active participation in the life of the church. While not being as hands on as the youth ministry, our student oversees and helps cast the vision for the Kids Central ministry. An applicant that has been gifted musically would also have an opportunity to use those gifts at Central.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide biblical teaching and spiritual leadership for students (grades 6-12).
• Plan and lead regular student gatherings, Bible studies, and discipleship opportunities.
• Encourage students to develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and grow in Christian character.
• Plan and oversee weekly student services, small groups, and special events.
• Organize retreats, camps, mission trips, and outreach opportunities.
• Create a welcoming, safe, and engaging environment for all students.
• Recruit, train, and support student ministry volunteers.
• Equip volunteers to disciple students and model Christ-like leadership.
• Ensure appropriate policies and procedures are followed to maintain student safety.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians, partnering with them in the spiritual development of their students.
• Collaborate with church staff and ministry leaders to integrate students into the broader church body.
• Encourage student participation in worship services, service projects, and church events.
• Manage the student ministry calendar, budget, and resources.
• Maintain regular communication through announcements, social media, and other platforms as appropriate.
• Attend staff meetings and support the overall mission and vision of the church.
• Any other tasks deemed necessary and directed by the senior pastor.

Qualifications

• A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a calling to student ministry.
• A willingness to become a member of Central.
• Agreement with the beliefs and mission of Central Baptist Church.
• Christian education is extremely valuable but can be something that is pursued while serving at Central.
• Experience working with students in a church or ministry setting is preferred.
• Strong relational, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to lead, mentor, and work well with volunteers and church staff.
• A desire to work hard and fully commit to the Central Student Ministry.
• Ability to pass a criminal history background check required.
