Video Producer

National Association for Gun Rights

About the Role

The National Association for Gun Rights is hiring a Video Producer to own our video output end-to-end. This is a one-person video operation, so we are looking for someone who can shoot, edit, and ship consistently every single week with very little hand-holding. You will be the engine behind our YouTube channel and short-form social content (YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, X content, etc.), responsible for keeping a steady, reliable publishing cadence that our audience can count on.

This is a high-ownership role. Because of this, we expect you to manage your own pipeline, hit your deadlines, and keep the content flowing even when the calendar gets complicated.

What You’ll DoWeekly deliverables (every week, without fail):

  • 1 (sometimes 2) long-form YouTube videos, 8 to 12 minutes each (shoot and edit)
  • 2 to 3 YouTube Shorts
  • 3 to 5 short-form videos for social media
  • Thumbnails for the YouTube videos

Own the production pipeline

  • Coordinate with the team members who select stories and write scripts so you always know what is coming next
  • Lock in on-screen talent and confirm everything is ready before a shoot
  • Keep uploads consistent week over week, no gaps

Plan ahead

  • Bank content in advance of holidays, company retreats and trainings, and other planned downtime so the channel never goes dark
  • Plan your own PTO and vacation responsibly. Since you are the sole video producer, that means working with staff to get content “in the can” before you are out

Report on performance

  • Track your metrics and analytics
  • Present results to leadership twice a year for review

Side quests

NAGR runs on a lean staff, which means “just doing your job” is not always the full job. From time to time, this role may be asked to assist with other communications and marketing projects, including basic social media graphic design, range day content and production, media evaluations, live event support, and other tasks that help advance the mission.

Some of these projects will be serious, some will be fast-moving, and some — like range day projects — will be the fun stuff. The right candidate should be willing to jump in, help where needed, and be part of a team that does what it takes to get the job done.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro. We will also consider strong DaVinci Resolve editors, but you must be comfortable working in the Adobe Creative Cloud environment
  • Working familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and basic graphic design
  • Ability to create (or quickly learn to create) compelling YouTube thumbnails
  • Comfortable shooting your own footage, not just editing
  • Basic understanding of AI video generation
  • Excellent self-management, project ownership, and fast turnaround under deadline pressure
  • Demonstrated commitment to the Second Amendment and NAGR’s mission is required. This is an advocacy role, and we are looking for someone who is already aligned with our principles and motivated by the work.
  • Working knowledge of how firearms operate, with basic gun safety knowledge

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience producing content for a YouTube channel or brand on a recurring schedule
  • Experience with short-form vertical video across multiple social platforms
  • Motion graphics or titling skills
  • Experience covering live events or shoots on location
  • A solid understanding of conservative and Second Amendment politics

What to Expect

This role is built for someone who thrives on autonomy and consistency. If you like figuring out the plan, running your own shoots, and seeing your work published every week to a large and engaged audience, you will do well here. If you need someone standing over your shoulder, this is not the right fit.

Culture

NAGR is a political organization made up of marketers, communicators, political professionals, and Second Amendment advocates who believe in fighting hard for the mission. Our team often approaches the world through a traditional conservative worldview, though many staff members also identify with a lower-case “l” libertarian outlook rooted in individual liberty, limited government, and healthy distrust of government.

This is a serious advocacy organization, but it is also a place with strong company camaraderie, a shared sense of purpose, and a team that enjoys working together. NAGR offers great benefits, a mission-driven work environment, and the opportunity to create content that reaches and mobilizes a large audience of gun owners nationwide.

How to Apply

If you are ready to take the next step, email your resume and cover letter to ***email_hidden*** explaining why you are the best fit for this position.

Applicants must also include links to a portfolio, reel, YouTube channel, social media videos, or other examples of previous video work. Professional experience is preferred, but volunteer work, college projects, freelance projects, political content, or personal channel work may also be submitted if it demonstrates your ability to shoot, edit, produce, and publish quality video content.

Please include work samples that show both long-form editing and short-form vertical video when possible. You may also include examples of thumbnails, graphics, titles, or other design work related to video production.

Applications that do not include samples may not be considered.
