(SE) MVC - STUDENT AIDE I

Performs a variety of unskilled clerical and/or manual duties for a specific work area. Work is performed under close supervision. Work is assigned and student receives detailed instruction. No experience at all is required. Job details are learned from supervisor or classified staff member.

Minimum of six (6) completed units in Childhood Development courses(EAR).

Knowledge of appropriate child development practices. Ability to appropriately interact with children ages 2-5.

Completed Mandated Reporter Training, Completed First Aid/CPR training, pass LiveScan background check (non-refundable fee), and provide proof of Tuberculosis (TB) Clearance/immunizations.

Following the teachers lesson plan and participating in daily circle time routines, transitions, and learning centers.

Assist teacher with the preparation of the daily materials for learning centers.

Use positive child guidance to guide appropriate behavior.

Use positive child guidance to ensure safety in all areas: classrooms, restrooms, playground, etc.

Participate in staff meetings, staff development trainings, workshops, and conferences for professional growth.

Cleaning of the classroom on a daily/weekly basis.

Duties and Responsibilities: - Continued

Minimum of 6 units completed in Child Development courses. Maintain an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher. Jobs only available to Moreno Valley Students who have Moreno Valley College as their Home Campus. Must be enrolled in at least half-time units (6 units for Fall and Spring and 3 units for Winter and Summer). For Federal Work Study you must maintain a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.0. *IF funded by Federal Work Study (FWS) Grant or Cal Works Work Study (CWS) grant, students must maintain eligibility for the FWS grant to maintain the position.

Monday - Friday 9:00am-1:00pm or 1:30pm-5:30pm. Flexible schedules during Summer, Winter, and Spring Break.

Hours will be agreed upon by supervisor and student upon offer of position.

Student Employees are limited to a maximum of 20 hours per week and 8 hours per day.
