Automotive Preowned Vehicle Manager

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven

Used Car Manager to oversee all aspects of our pre-owned vehicle operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inventory acquisition, pricing strategy, merchandising, sales performance, profitability, and team leadership. This role requires strong automotive industry knowledge, market awareness, and a proven track record of maximizing used vehicle sales and gross profit.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Management

• Source and acquire quality used vehicle inventory through auctions, trade-ins, lease returns, and wholesale channels.
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure an appropriate mix of vehicles based on market demand.
• Evaluate trade-ins and determine competitive vehicle values.
• Maintain inventory turn targets and aging policies.

Sales & Profitability

• Develop pricing strategies based on market conditions and competitive analysis.
• Maximize front-end and back-end gross profit opportunities.
• Analyze sales reports, inventory performance, and key dealership metrics.
• Work closely with the sales team to achieve monthly and annual sales goals.
• Ensure all vehicles are properly reconditioned, photographed, and listed online.
• Coordinate promotions and marketing campaigns to drive traffic and sales.
• Monitor online listings for accuracy and competitiveness.

Customer Satisfaction

• Handle customer escalations and resolve issues professionally.
• Ensure compliance with dealership policies and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain high customer satisfaction and retention levels.

Qualifications

Required

• 3+ years of automotive management experience, preferably in used vehicle operations.
• Proven track record of achieving sales and profitability goals.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle valuation, auctions, and inventory management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Preferred

• Experience with dealership management systems (DMS).
• Knowledge of automotive digital retailing platforms.
• Experience with inventory management tools and market pricing software.
