Job overview and responsibilities
Caring is one of United’s most important principles. And no one exemplifies that more than our Cargo Customer Contact Center Team, who helps our customers with everything from booking and managing our cargo bookings. This includes assisting with completing the booking reservations and answering questions about our Cargo products, QuickPak, LifeGuard, TrustUA, Temp Control, CST and so much more! - Help maintain service level standards while meeting business objectives, by answering phones and or email in a timely and professional manner
- Book all Domestic, International and QuickPak cargo shipments, for external and internal customers
- Book all Domestic, International and QuickPak cargo shipments, for external and internal customers
- Provide accurate information to customers, as it pertains to rules, regulations, rates and acceptance of all cargo products
- Provide excellent customer service to internal/external customers
- Successful individual should be detail oriented and be able to make good judgment calls when necessary
- Selling and promoting our cargo products
Qualifications
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent customer service skills required, with 2-3 years of customer service experience
- Excellent listening and communication skills and the ability to read, write and speak English fluently
- Minimum typing skills of 20 wpm
- Must be flexible to work any shift within a 24-hour period including days, nights, weekends, and holidays; flexibility is a must, as your work hours and days may change up to 4 times per year
- Must be able to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time in a small cubicle area
- You will perform structured functions, such as typing information into a computer and speaking on the phone to customers, repeatedly throughout your shift
- Must be able to adhere to firm, predetermined break periods
- Other than the scheduled break and lunch periods, you will be required to be at your workstation performing applicable duties
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the positioned break and lunch periods, you will be required to be at your work station performing applicable duties.
