Director of Annual Giving, Events & Sponsorships

The Stamford JCC is seeking a full-time Director of Annual Giving, Events & Sponsorships to join its Advancement team. Reporting to the Vice President of Advancement, this position will lead and grow a core portfolio of contributed revenue through the annual campaign, fundraising events, and sponsorships, while helping to strengthen donor engagement and stewardship across the organization. The Director will play a central role in advancing a culture of philanthropy and building the systems, relationships, and experiences that support stronger donor participation and long-term growth.
This role is ideal for a strategic and hands-on fundraising professional who is energized by both relationship-building and execution. The successful candidate will be highly organized, entrepreneurial, and collaborative, with the ability to manage multiple projects at once and work effectively with donors, volunteers, board members, colleagues, and community partners .
Responsibilities
· Lead the planning, execution, and growth of the Stamford JCC's annual campaign, including strategy, segmentation, timelines, appeals, donor renewal, and upgrade opportunities .
· Manage and grow a portfolio of fundraising events, including oversight of revenue goals, planning calendars, logistics, volunteer engagement, sponsorship fulfillment, and post-event follow-up .
· Build and strengthen the JCC's sponsorship program by identifying prospects, developing sponsorship packages, cultivating local business and corporate partners, tracking renewals, and stewarding sponsor relationships .
· Partner with the Vice President of Advancement to develop annual contributed income goals, monitor progress to goal, and identify opportunities to improve performance across annual giving, events, and sponsorships .
· Create and implement donor engagement strategies that move supporters from event participation and annual giving into deeper philanthropic involvement .
· Coordinate closely with Marketing to develop compelling donor-facing messaging, campaign materials, sponsorship collateral, invitations, and event communications .
· Work collaboratively with Advancement operations to ensure accurate donor tracking, gift processing, segmentation, reporting, acknowledgment, and stewardship .
· Recruit, support, and partner with volunteer leaders, committees, and lay leaders to strengthen fundraising events, broaden donor outreach, and deepen community participation .
· Develop clear event and annual giving metrics, evaluate results, and recommend improvements based on participation, retention, sponsorship performance, and net revenue.
· Help strengthen an organization-wide culture of philanthropy by serving as an enthusiastic ambassador for the JCC's mission, impact, and future growth.
· Evening and weekend work will be required for scheduled events, meetings, and donor activities.
· All other duties as assigned.

· Strong project management skills, including planning calendars, coordinating teams, and following through on details.
· Comfort with donor-facing work, including sponsorship cultivation, event-related fundraising, and donor stewardship.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to use data to inform fundraising decisions.
· Ability to engage in collaborative work with minimal direction while understanding when to seek guidance.
· Must possess the highest degree of discretion and confidentiality.
Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree required.
· Minimum of 4-6 years of progressively responsible nonprofit fundraising experience or closely related transferable experience, with demonstrated success in annual giving, events, sponsorships, or donor engagement.
· Experience planning and implementing fundraising events required.
· Experience developing sponsorship packages and cultivating sponsor relationships strongly preferred.
· Familiarity with donor databases/CRM systems and fundraising reporting required.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite required; comfort with Excel and donor data strongly preferred.
· Experience working with volunteers, committees, or board members preferred.
Salary
Salary: $70,000-75,000 based on experience
